Pinda Daan
In Hinduism, Pinda Daan is a ritual offered to pay respect and offer prayers to departed ancestors. Asthi Visarajan
This ritual is highly important for complete liberation of the departed soul. In this puja, the deceased person’s ashes are immersed in the holy Ganga. This ritual symbolizes the departed soul reaching Moksha. “Asthi” means remnants of bones after cremation, and “Visarajan” means immersion of them in holy Ganga.

Shraadh
Shraadh puja is a ritual performed to pay homage to one’s ancestors, especially to one’s dead parents. It is believed that performing Shraadh Puja calms the departed, as these specific prayers and mantras help their soul attain peace. This puja is performed for both the father and mother separately on their respective death anniversary or during the Pitru Paksha or Shraaddha paksha (fortnight of ancestors), right before Shraadh Navaratri in the fall.

Navgrah Shanti Puja
Navgraha Puja is performed to reduced negative effects of nine grahas or planets. The word “Navgraha” is a combination of two words; Nav means Nine, and Grah means Planets. The nine planets influence various aspects of an individual’s life, including love/marriage, career/financial success, health, etc.
